Stocks2Play.com is a private member online financial destination where serious investors can come to discover exceptional emerging growth companies, most of which lack widespread analyst coverage. Proper fundamental analysis of these companies will generally reveal about 2 or 3 superior investment opportunities out of every 100 companies examined. These 2 or 3 often represent better investments than 90% of stocks on the large-cap markets like the NYSE. This is what we search for. We also concentrate on finding the "Sleeper" stocks. These are companies that have explosive growth potential but at the same time have been relatively quiet for awhile with very light volumes and depressed share prices. They typically have been flying under the radar to almost everyone in the investment community but for one reason or another are now suddenly poised for a substantial break-out.
One of the theories of "Sleeper" stocks is that the longer a stock price remains depressed but constant at the current support level, the stronger it often becomes and the higher it may go once there is legitimate and sufficient reason for a steady increase in share demand. This can happen because many of the weaker or shorter-term shareholders along with our day-trader and trend-trader friends have already sold because of the lack of volatility or simply because they were tired of waiting for something to happen.
In addition to factors that tie into the "Sleeper" stock theory, we usually look for relatively small public floats or at least small "effective" floats with minimal block sale potential. This amplifies supply vs. demand strategies. Potential dilution is always a concern and often becomes one of the most important factors in our final decision making process.
Another area of research that we concentrate on is finding companies that are basically just trading shell corporations with little or no business activity but are being looked at as a target for a reverse merger or takeover. Investigating new listings at places like the "daily list" on the OTCBB website can be extremely valuable. Given the current bull market, there are many companies that are looking for projects. Many times this will suddenly cause their stock price to spring to life causing tremendous returns for those who recognized the opportunity early on. Timely information is key.
Pre-Promotion buying is another strategy that we often will consider seriously. Penny stock companies often will find the need to create demand for their shares through the services of a investor relations firm or promoter. Knowing this information in advance can make a real difference. Again, timely information can be critical!
